MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Thank you for visiting our website today.  We hope and expect that your time spent with us here will be helpful, informative, and comforting.

Whether  you are a patient, a glaucoma suspect, a caregiver or just browsing, there should be information here that is of interest to you.  We trust that you will find our new site east to navigate.  If you have any questions, comments or concerns you would like to share contact us at info@glaucomafoundation.org.  We sincerely welcome the input of those we so deeply care about.

The Foundation remains committed to its two-pronged mission: funding cutting-edge research and educational outreach.  Every scientific breakthrough brings us closer to unlocking the mysteries of glaucoma, with most encouraging recent progress.  In just the last ten years, we have funded 95 grants totalling $3 million.

Your interest in our efforts and support of our organization and its initiatives means everything to us.  We also invite you to become involved as a volunteer.  We have recently created local chapters in Greater Chicago, New England (Boston) and Long Island, NY.  There are numerous other opportunities for participation we can explore with you.

Until we do find cures for glaucoma, early detection remains the key to preventing blindess.  I encourage you to remind your family members and friends to have their eyes examined.  To help you share this important message you can easily send them articles and information from this website by using our "Email to a friend" buttons throughout the site.

Let us stay the course together.  2007 was a banner year for The Glaucoma Foundation and 2008, we are confident, will be even more productive and exciting.  Please join us on our journey.  Together, as partners, we can make a difference.
